If you bought a black-box policy, your insurer fitted a telematics device (or paired an app) that tracks speed, braking, cornering, time of day, and mileage. Your driving score affects pricing at renewal, and some insurers cap monthly mileage with overage fees.

- Changing where you park can shift score thresholds
- If you change the vehicle, the device needs to be re-installed
