Can I shorten my policy term mid-way?

You can cancel early but not pause. A new shorter policy starts from your new dates.

Insurance policies can't be paused — the cover either runs or it doesn't. To shorten a term, the only route is:

  1. Cancel the existing policy See the Cancellation category. A £45 broker fee plus pro-rata deductions apply.
  2. Buy a new policy with the dates you need Start and end on the dates that actually suit you.
