Driving in the Republic of Ireland
A green card is not required for Ireland, but check the cover and documents needed for your trip.
UK vehicle insurance provides the minimum third-party cover required in Ireland, and you do not need to carry a green card. You still need valid insurance.
Ask your insurer whether your own-vehicle cover continues abroad and whether limits, trip-duration conditions or extra charges apply. Comprehensive cover abroad is not identical across policies.
