What information do I need before calling to claim?

Policy number, when and where it happened, the other party's details, and photos.


Have the basics to hand before you dial — it speeds the call up and saves the handler asking you to ring back.

📋What to have ready

  • Your policy number (in the app on your policy card)
  • The date, time and location of the incident (postcode is enough)
  • The other party's name, registration, insurer if known, and contact details
  • Names and phone numbers of any independent witnesses
  • A crime reference number if the police attended or you've reported a theft
  • Photos of the damage, the scene, and any vehicles involved
  • A factual account of what happened — stick to facts, leave out blame
