What information do I need before calling to claim?
Policy number, when and where it happened, the other party's details, and photos.
Have the basics to hand before you dial — it speeds the call up and saves the handler asking you to ring back.
📋What to have ready
- Your policy number (in the app on your policy card)
- The date, time and location of the incident (postcode is enough)
- The other party's name, registration, insurer if known, and contact details
- Names and phone numbers of any independent witnesses
- A crime reference number if the police attended or you've reported a theft
- Photos of the damage, the scene, and any vehicles involved
- A factual account of what happened — stick to facts, leave out blame
