Breakdown cover

Different tiers cover roadside assistance, home-start, UK recovery and European travel.

Breakdown cover protects you in the event your vehicle breaks down due to:

  • Mechanical or electrical failure
  • Lack of fuel
  • Accident, vandalism, fire, theft or attempted theft

🛡️Am I covered?

Breakdown cover is an add-on that can be purchased alongside your insurance. To check if you already have it, open My Portal and tap the Add-ons tab.

📱How to add it

  1. Log in to My Portal Open the app and sign in.
  2. Select your policy From the Policy tab.
  3. Tap Add-ons Shown at the top of the card view.
  4. Choose Breakdown Cover Then complete payment.

🚐Types of breakdown cover

  • Roadside Assistance and Recovery — covers breakdowns more than 1 mile from your home; recovery up to 20 miles.
  • Home Start and National Recovery — covers at your home address and recovery to any UK destination.
  • UK and EU Recovery — adds European territory cover to the National package.

🆘How to make a claim

  1. Make sure you're safe Move to a safe spot, switch off the engine and put hazard lights on.
  2. Take down details Your contact number, registration number and location.
  3. Call to claim 0345 058 8787
